Keep Calm And Follow The Sunnah

Allah SWT says:

"Say, 'If you really love Allah then follow me and Allah will love you and forgive your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.' "
(Al-Imran: 31)

And to love Allah is to love His Prophet. And to love the Prophet is to follow his sunnah.

How can we say we love him, when we don't even follow his sunnah, we don't even know what his sunnah is??

5 Acts of The Prophet SAW :

1. Wipe the effects of sleep from the face with your hands and say the supplication for waking up:

"All praise is for Allah who gave us life after death (sleep) and to Him is the resurrection."

Imaam An-Nawawee and Ibn Hajar stated that, "When the Messenger of Allah SAW woke up, he would sit up and rub away the effects of sleep from his face with his hand."

2. Entering the toilet with the left foot and leaving it with the right.

3. Using a siwaak (toothbrush)
  • For every prayer
  • Before reciting the Qur'an
  • When entering the house
  • When the smell of the mouth changes
  • When performing the wudhoo
  • After waking up

"Siwaak is a purifier for the mouth and pleasing the Lord," related by Muslim.

4. Put shoes on starting with the right foot and take them off starting with the left.

Also related by Muslim, "When you put shoes on, begin with the right and when you remove them, begin with the left. Or, wear them both, or leave them both off."

Whenever we put on our shoes or we remove them in accordance with the sunnah, with the intention of following the sunnah, we will be given a reward by Allah, inshaAllah.

C'mon! It's only putting on our shoes starting with the right and removing them starting with the left. It's not hard following his sunnah isn't it?

5. When meeting people, do 3S.

  • Salam; Assalamu'alaikum (equal to 10 good deeds), Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullah (equal to 20 good deeds), Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh (equal to 30 good deeds).
  • Smile
  • Shake hands

Imagine.. If you shake hands with someone you meet, greet them with Salam and smile at them, you would have fulfilled three of his sunnah at once!

*The Angel on your right shoulder gets busy*

Allah is the Most Bountiful. Even by the doing the simplest sunnah, there's a reward. So why choose on not doing it, why not? Let's reflect it on ourselves, shall we?

These are just five of his sunnah, there's more than a thousand. Do you know one of his biggest sunnah? It is going to usrah. And by going to usrah, we could fulfilled almost all of the sunnah above. Soooo jangan eskep-eskep. Hehe.

If you have no usrah at your place, find one. If there's no usrah at your place, start one. As how much going to usrah has changed me, I want you to feel it too. Through usrah, we find tarbiyah and through tarbiyah, we find Allah. InshaAllah.

Jom hidupkan sunnah Rasulullah! Takbir!

I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad SAW is His slave and His Messenger.
